But, don’t you worry because we are here to rescue you by telling you of some amazing tips to make your child fall asleep faster. Let’s read ahead!
Say no to screens before bed
Our little ones are sadly screen addicts. And if we don’t control their screen time, there are many consequences that both our kids and we will have to face. And one of them is sleeplessness. There have been several researches that prove screen time to be directly proportional to sleep deprivation. Hence, it’s important to limit your kid’s screen time and take all the gadgets 5 feet away from them.
A nice warm bath could be the answer
Making sure your kid goes to bed after taking a warm salty bath is an azmaya hua totka by our desi moms! Incorporate that in your kid’s life and you’ll see just how fast they will enter the milky way of their dreams.
A warm glass of milk won’t do any harm
While you are supposed to make sure dinner time ends at 7 pm for your kid, giving them a warm glass of milk will help them fall asleep better and faster. That’s because, it contains the amino acid tryptophan, which even though isn’t sleep inducing itself, but helps in making the neurotransmitter serotonin which induces feelings of calmness and sleep.
Essential oils are essential
We have all heard of essential oils and their uncountable benefits. We know that they are as calming and as soothing as ever and there is nothing an essential oil cannot solve! Therefore, incorporating some or at least one of them in your child’s bed time routine can go a long way. Whether it’s your favorite lavender oil or chamomile, rubbing it on your wrist and making your child smell the scent during their bed time story is one awesome idea! You can also add these oils to their bath or release the scent by lightening candles with these oils.
Cherry on top!
Cherries are one of the very few naturally available sources of melatonin. If you ask what melatonin is? Well, it’s the hormone that regulates the sleep wake cycle. And what’s better than adding cherries to your child’s meals or just making some delicious smoothies out of them can increase the levels of melatonin in their bodies and help them sleep faster.
And the moral of Zzz story is…
When you are a parent, your sleep is directly dependent on your little one’s sleep. If they are sleeping fast and sound, you are as well.
