The days of Eid are over but there is still a lot of meat left. That means more eating, and acidity. Acidity occurs when there is an excess secretion of acids in the gastric glands of the stomach. This produces bad breath, stomach ache and other symptoms. However, if you are facing these issues then keep calm, keep the meat away and fret not. Read ahead, and prevent acidity with these 4 ways.

Eat as much as your stomach can handle

The esophagus opens into the stomach, where there is a ring-like muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter. This acts as a valve and helps to prevent the acidic contents of the stomach from going up in the esophagus. It naturally opens when you belch or swallow but other times it stays closed.

Therefore, most reflux symptoms tend to take place after a meal. This is why eating larger meals wouldn’t be the smartest thing to do. To avoid acid reflux, stop eating larger meals and break them down into smaller ones.

Keep the Cumin Comin’

Cumin seeds work greatly to digest food. It is an acid neutralizer and helps to relieve stomach pain. All you need to do is roast some cumin seeds, add it to a glass of water and drink it after every meal. You might hate the taste but you will feel extremely good.

Ginger your life out

Ginger is something you need to have in your fridge at all times if you are prone to heartburn. This is because it has amazing anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. To neutralize the stomach acids, you need to chew a slice of fresh ginger or boil it in a cup of water and drink it.

Don’t say nana to bananas

Bananas have loads of health benefits but they are greatly used to cure acidity. Bananas are filled with natural antacids that help to prevent acid reflux. All you need to do is peel the bananas and eat them. Eat at least one banana per day to prevent discomfort.

Mutton Handi, Biryani and Roast Raan might sound tasty but be extremely cautious while eating such heavy meals. Keep your hands low, binge on greens and follow these tips if you are suffering from acidity.
