5 Reasons You Should Continue Smoking

Quit Smoking

Tobacco, directly and indirectly, kills more than 7 million people a year. To make 1 regular cigarette, approximately 600 ingredients are used. When you burn these ingredients, close to 7,000 chemicals are created. Out of these chemicals, 69 are known to cause cancer while numerous others are poisonous.

There’s no reason for you to quit though because there is hardly any feeling better than the first puff after a stressful day at the office. Here are some more reasons you should definitely carry on smoking!

1. Adds the perfect glow to your teeth

All of us love a perfectly gleaming smile. Well, if you’re a smoker, you’re on the right track buddy! Not only do the chemicals in cigarettes give your teeth an unmatched yellowish stain, but they also increase the plaque and tar build up on your teeth. As an added bonus, you develop bad breath and an increased risk of gum disease!

2. Clear out those lungs!

More than 80% of cases of lung cancer are due to smoking. Yes, that’s a report conducted by doctors and scientists and research specialists. The chemicals in cigarettes interfere with the body’s natural filtering system; mucus is overproduced and the tiny hair-like substances that keep away dust and dirt are paralyzed causing congestion. Smokers are more likely to suffer from conditions such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. But hey, at least they make the lungs work to their fullest right?

3. The more you smoke, the more you save

Because of the endless benefits that smoking offers, the world’s regulatory economic body has imposed a lot of taxes on it that end up being paid by the consumer. Just do the math; if one cigarette costs Rs.10 and you smoke 10 in one day, that’s Rs.100 you’re spending per day. Per year, that totals to Rs.36, 500 that you’re just blowing up in smokes. At this point, you should just sit back and be amazed by yet another great advantage you get by being a lucky smoker.

4. Healthy heart; healthy you

Now that we know how great smoking is for your lungs, let’s see how much it helps your heart function. Remember how we talked about the chemicals contained in cigarettes? Well those chemicals, when they go into your air passages and arteries, end up causing great harm to the lining of the arteries leading to building up of fat deposits that narrow the path for blood to pass. This can cause angina, a stroke or a heart attack.

A smoker would say, “Well you don’t know the pleasure of having a smoke after a long day at work or after a great meal”. To that, we would say, “Enjoy them while you can sir”.

5. It’s great for those around you

You know how they say, the more the merrier? Amazingly, that applies to smoke as well. When you smoke a cigarette, you don’t just harm yourself; you harm your environment and those around you. Not only are you giving yourself cancer, but you’re also giving your sister, brother, daughter, mother, wife and all those around you cancer as well. A study conducted by the World Health Organization revealed that Passive Smoking kills 600,000 people a year, including 165,000 children.
