Try to get some light exercise 3 or 4 days of the week, tell yourself that you will only eat your favorite foods that might not be so healthy on the weekend.

The way you feel when your blood glucose levels are low or really high adds to the stress. On top of that, there are the worries that you might develop complications, and the burden of dealing with any complications you may already have. However, as long as you have a normal glucose level more often than not, you’re fine. It’s important to note that going overboard may have adverse effects so make sure you don’t completely deprive your body of the essential carbs and minerals it needs.
Demoralizing, But It Has A Silver Lining
Dealing with a disease can wear you down, especially if it’s as restrictive and long-lasting as diabetes. The cupcake that didn’t tempt you suddenly becomes more appetizing and the big bowl of cheese pasta becomes all you want to eat. What we don’t realize is that even for those who don’t have Diabetes, going overboard on fatty or sugar-rich foods can have negative effects. So don’t let diabetes get you down, you’re moving towards a healthier lifestyle altogether.
Distrustful, But You Can Predict It If You Know It
Diabetes is tricky. You might think that you’re eating well and your blood glucose will be at a stable level. But other things like stress outside of work or your bad sleeping habits might be causing spikes in your diabetes levels. Be wary, and don’t freak out when it’s not what you expect it to be. Chances are, the constant worrying will be adding to the spikes. Track what you’re eating and maintain a healthy level of exercise and you’ll be good.
Yes, you will have to take your medications regularly, take your insulin shots if that’s what the doctor prescribed and go for a checkup from time to time. Yes, it’s difficult, but you can do it.
