Precautions

Dextrose infusions should not be mixed with whole blood due to the risk of hemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells) and clumping (form a clump).

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients suffering from glucose-galactose malabsorption (unable to absorb nutrients from diet)
