JAK2 Exon-12:
JAK2 Exon-12 is a normal component of the body affecting various organs and their functions. If it is abnormal, also known as mutation, due to any inherited or acquired causes, it may disrupt the bone marrow and its function. The bone marrow is an essential organ of the body that makes blood cells, including the red blood cells.
An abnormal form of JAK 2 Exon-12 presents as various blood diseases, such as Polycythemia vera and erythrocytosis.
The JAK-2 Exon 12 Lab Test is a screening test that checks for cancers or any other abnormalities in the bone marrow. The timely detection allows for early control and effective management of any abnormality that may be present.
A sample of the bone marrow is taken from the individual suspected to have an abnormality through a medical process known as a biopsy. The sample is then further prepared and tested in a laboratory.

You may have cancer if you experience one or all of the following:
- Weak immunity
- Fatigue that often interrupts daily routine activities, such as work, school, etc
- Abnormal weight loss
- Pale appearance
- Feeling weak and breathless after a little activity
Please note these signs do not necessarily mean you have cancer.
Please refer to the lab you are getting tested from or consult your doctor.
Some abnormalities are mild whilst others are serious and can have dire consequences. Getting tested is essential for the following reasons:
- Helps you and your doctor diagnose various diseases and predict the outcomes
- Regular check-up
- Diagnose conditions before they progress and prove to be fatal
- Plan treatment and evaluate the effectiveness of given therapy
