Avoid this medication if:

• You are allergic to this medicine or its contents.

• If you are breastfeeding.

• If you have a medical history of liver disease, breathing disorders (asthma, bronchitis etc.), seizures, pelvic inflammatory disease, heart disease, kidney disease, or liver disease.

• If you experience a serious and rare side effect, such as fainting, seizures, chest pain or vision changes.

Be careful about:

• Make sure you tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking this drug before any medical or dental procedure.
• Try to be careful about being over hydrated.
• Precaution should be taken if you are taking medicines such as corticosteroids, or diuretics.

Primary Uses

Indications

This medication is used to induce labour.

Side Effects

Patients using this medication may at times experience tachycardia (increased heart rate), anxiety, and rise in the blood sugar level. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, please consult your doctor.

Contraindications

This medication should not be used in cases of antepartum haemorrhage (bleeding from the genital tract that can occur anytime after the 20 or 24th week of gestation till childbirth), and toxaemia of pregnancy (abnormal condition when the patients blood pressure is high and there's high content of protein in her urine).
