Uses of Zomig
This medicine is used to treat migraine (a recurring, throbbing headache that usually affects one side of the head) with or without aura (presence of signs and symptoms before the headache occurs).
Side effects of Zomig
Nausea, dizziness, warm sensations, asthenia (lack of energy), dry mouth, somnolence (sleepiness), heaviness or pressure in throat, limbs, neck or chest, muscle weakness and pain, pins and needle sensation, GI upset, increased BP, palpitations and hypersensitivity are the commonly reported side effects of this medicine.
When not to use Zomig
This medicine is contraindicated to use in patients with uncontrolled hypertension (increased blood pressure), heart disease, kidney impairment, history of stroke and those who are suffering from hemiplegic (a severe kind of migraine headache that causes weakness of half of the body), basilar (migraine that occurs due to the tightening of a blood vessel in the brainstem), or ophthalmoplegic (a nervous system syndrome that affects the eyes and head) migraine.
