Do you ever look at Mahnoor Baloch or Shehzad Roy and wonder how they have managed to look flawless even at this age. You look at them all star-eyed, secretly wondering what you would look like when you are old. While some people might look like they haven’t aged a day, others might not be so lucky. We sure are going to be old one day, but do we fancy that? Absolutely not! And this is where anti-aging products come to the rescue.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, do I have any hope at all?
You’re thinking of wrinkles and aging and almost turning into a damsel in distress. Wait, you’re not too late or unfortunate! If you are not lucky enough to have some of the ‘forever young Mahnoor Baloch genes’, don’t stress, you still have a ray of hope left. Ant-aging products, if containing the right ingredients, can help you. What are they, you may ask? Here’s a list. If you have the following ingredients in your anti-aging products, it’s a win-win situation!
1. Retinoids
Because retinoids directly enhance the production of collagen, it is linked with anti-aging properties. They thicken the dermal layer of the skin, producing more collagen, which gives the skin its elasticity and strength. Enough collagen, less wrinkles. However, not everything awesome comes easy. It may take months for retinoids to produce effect, and may also irritate skin. Alas!
2. Peptides
Peptides are a form proteins, and proteins save the day almost at all times. Also known to increase collagen production, this is your go-to ingredient for the magic potion you have been looking for to say goodbye to wrinkles.
3. Vitamin C and E
Vitamins are like your fairy godmother. Always wishing you well, and making sure you get the best of everything. Vitamin C and E are known antioxidants, which destroy free radicals. Free radicals are produced by exposure to UV rays, and may also cause cancers. With free radicals gone, the damage done by UV rays is gone too, making you wrinkle-free.
4. Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and Polyhydroxy acids (PHAs)
Although the exact mechanism by which these work is not very clear, their anti-wrinkle properties are undeniable. One proposed theory is their work as exfoliants, simply removing dead skin cells from the layers of skin. This, in turn increases the growth of collagen, thereby reducing wrinkles.
Age gracefully, age well
You cannot run away from aging. One day your future will also look frail, with gray hair and a wrinkled face. But, you don’t have anything to lose, do you? No matter how much you want it, you cannot turn into a vampire and avoid aging forever. However, what you can avoid is the main evil behind the game: UV radiation. Hold onto your sunscreen like there’s no life without it, eat healthy and spread good vibes only.
