Itchy Skin

Description

Itchy skin is an uncomfortable sensation that makes you want to scratch. It is also known as pruritus. It is usually caused by dry skin and it's common in older adults because skin tends to become drier with age. Scratching can cause raised thick areas of skin that might bleed. 

Causes

Causes of itchy skin include:
