This medicine is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and cirrhosis with ascites (loss of liver cells with accumulation of fluids).

Contradications

Amiloride is contraindicated in following conditions:

  • Kidney disease from diabetes
  • Diabetes
  • Low amount of sodium in the blood
  • Acidosis, high level of acid in the blood.
  • Liver problems
  • Decreased kidney function
  • Decreased urine production
