This medicine is used for preventing asthma and allergic rhinitis (inflammation and irritation of the nose). It is also used for treating allergic rhinitis, oral ulceration (mouth sore), and ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the large intestine).
This medication is used in patients with bronchial asthma (breathing disorder).
This medication is contraindicated in patients with tuberculosis (disease causing inflammation of the lungs), epistaxis (nose bleeding) and measles, glaucoma (pressure in the eye), nose injury, or nose surgery.
The side effects of this medicine include headache, dry throat, and hoarseness (voice changes).

It is mostly taken orally. The dosage is dependent on the age, condition and its severity. Please consult your doctor before using this medicine.

The patients with active infections irresponsive to antibiotics, latent or active amoebiasis (intestinal infection), history of tuberculosis, blood infections/disorders, chickenpox, measles, psychiatric disorders, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment, cirrhosis (liver disorder), active peptic ulcer (intestinal inflammation), myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disorder), glaucoma (increased eye pressure), osteoporosis (weak bones due to low bone density), epilepsy (disorder characterized by seizures), hypothyroidism (decreased thyroid levels), diabetes, adrenal gland suppression, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart disorders, and allergic reactions should use this medicine cautiously.
Effects on pregnancy and lactation:
The risk associated with use of this medicine in pregnant females cannot be ruled out. Therefore, please consult your doctor before use. The effects of this medicine in lactating females are unknown. Therefore, please consult your doctor before use.
The patients administered with this medicine may experience menstrual problems (females), Cushingoid state (effects occurring due to excess cortisol hormone), slowed growth (children), increased severity of infection, electrolyte disturbances, bone density changes, fractures, impaired wound healing, hirsutism (abnormal increased hair growth), gastrointestinal disturbances and inflammation, psychiatric disturbances (confusion, blurred vision), insomnia, impaired glucose tolerance, weight changes, blood disorders, and vision disturbances.
The patients with fungal infections, head injury, and history of stroke (fatal disease affecting brain supply) should avoid use of this medicine.
