1. What is the use of this medicine?
This medicine is used for the treatment of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD) such as Emphysema (breathing disorder affecting the air sacs in the lungs) and bronchitis (inflammation of the respiratory passages).

Formoterol has the potential to cause dry mouth on frequent usage, you are therefore recommended to do daily rinses and gargles to avoid this from happening.

It would result in fungal infection of the mouth if oral hygiene is not maintained. Hence ensure to do warm water rinses strictly while using this medicine.

The patients with pulmonary (lungs) tuberculosis, severe heart disorders, diabetes, hypokalemia (decreased potassium levels), thyrotoxicosis (thyroid gland abnormality), paradoxical bronchospasm (airway constriction), increased risk of adrenal gland suppression and overall body effects (with prolonged use), and children should use this medicine cautiously. Please monitor adrenal gland function and height in children during use, and withdraw gradually.
