This medicine is used in patients with a single demyelinating event (nerve disorder) with an active inflammatory process severe enough to require IV corticosteroids if alternative diagnosis have been excluded and they are at high risk of developing multiple sclerosis (disease of the brain and spinal cord).
Contradications
It is not recommended in patients who have a history of severe depression or suicidal thoughts and decompensated (detoriated function) liver disease.Side effects
