This drug is used to treat infestation with threadworms of small intestine, due to nematode parasite strongyloides stercoralis, river blindness due to nematode parasite Onchocera volvulus.

Contradications

This drug should not be given if there is a known hypersensitivity to ivermectin or any other component of the formulation.

Side effects

SIde effects of this drug can include decreased blood pressure, mild ECG changes, swelling, dizziness, headache, increased body temperature, sleeplessness, drowsiness, vertigo, itching, rash, redness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, increased eosinophils, decreased WBC's, increased ALT/AST, eye inflammation, muscular pain, tremor, weakness, blurred vision, mild conjuctivitis, and cataracts.
