levosulpiride

This drug is used as a gastroprokinetic (increases gastric motility), usually indicated in nausea and vomiting. This drug can also be given to treat indigestion, dizziness, irritable bowel syndrome, schizophrenia, Tourette's syndrome (neurological disorder of invluntary vocalizations), and for treating depression with or wthout anxiety.

Contradications

This drug should not be given in comatose states, CNS depression, or phrochromcytoma.

Side effects

Side effects of this drug can include sleep disturbances, over stimulation, and agitation. It may also cause extrapyramidal symptoms, and cardiovascular effects, such as decrease in blood pressure.
