ranolazine

This product is used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of stable angina (chest pain or discomfort that most often occurs with activity or emotional stress) in patients inadequately controlled on 1st line antianginal therapy.  

Contradications

This medicine is contraindicated in people with severe kidney impairment and moderate to severe liver impairment. 

Side effects

Dizziness, headache, GI upset and asthenia (abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy) are the commonly reported side effects.

It should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset.

What happens if it is overused?

Nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, double vision, tiredness, severe tremor, confusion, hallucinations, etc. may result. Hence inform your doctor immediately if you have overdosed this medicine.
