Contradications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with thyrotoxicosis (excess circulating thyroid hormones).

Side effects

Anginal pain, palpitation, skeletal muscle cramps, tachycardia (increased heart rate), diarrhoea, vomiting, imsomnia (inability to sleep), headaches,weightloss, flushing, sweating, rash, restlessness, menstual disorders, heat intolerance and transient alopecia (hairloss) in children.

Administration:

It is mostly taken orally at least 30 minutes before meals. The dosage is dependent on the age, condition and its severity. Please consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Side Effects:

The patients administered with this medicine may experience chest pain, changes in heart function, insomnia, excitability, weight loss, menstrual changes, muscular weakness, rash, swelling, heat intolerance, pseudotumor cerebri (high brain pressure), and alopecia (hair loss from any part of the body, occurs mainly in children in this case).

Precautions:

The patients with heart impairment, diabetes, longstanding hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency (decreased adrenal gland activity), and elderly should be cautious.

Contraindications:

The patients with thyrotoxicosis (toxicity of the thyroid gland) should avoid use of this medicine.
