Bleeding

Description
Bleeding is defined as the loss of blood. It may be normal or abnormal, the latter is concerning and requires immediate attention. Bleeding can occur externally or internally; external bleeding occurs in the case of cuts and tears while internal bleeding takes place during organ damage.
Causes

The causes for bleeding include the following:

Management

  • Cleaning and disinfecting the wound
  • Stopping the bleeding with a clean cloth or bandage
  • Apply gauze or tourniquet
  • Immobilization of the affected part to minimize bleeding
