- Detect excess gastrin production,
- Diagnose Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excess acid production in the stomach due to tumors),
- Diagnose gastrinomas (gastrin producing tumors),
- Diagnose G-cell hyperplasia (increase in the number of G cells),
- Monitor the recurrence of a gastrinoma (gastrin producing tumor).
