MPN:
The Myelo-Proliferative Neoplasms are a type of cancer that starts in the bone marrow where a large amount of blood cells is made. In MPN, the bone marrow makes an excessive amount of one or many types of blood cells, such as red blood cells and white blood cells. These cells are immature, cannot function as efficiently as normal cells, and thicken the blood.
The Myelo-Proliferative Neoplasms Lab Test is a screening test that checks for cancers that start in the bone marrow, responsible for making blood cells. The timely detection allows for early control and effective management of any abnormality that may be present.
