Ciproxin tablet contains ciprofloxacin in it which is a quinolone antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria causing the infection. Ciprofloxacin is indicated in treating bacterial infections of skin, lungs, joints, bones, bladder, kidneys, bowel, and prostate gland. It is also indicated in treating inhalational anthrax (caused by breathing in spores of bacteria).
Most side effects occur for a short period & are mild. Common side effects like nausea, diarrhea (loose motions), headache, lightheadedness and trouble in sleeping can occur. If condition persist or worsens, consult doctor/pharmacist immediately.

How should ciprofloxacin be taken?
It is best to take on empty stomach and you must drink plenty of water as it will help prevent the unwanted effects of ciprofloxacin.
How does ciprofloxacin work?
It works by stopping the growth of bacteria causing infection. It only works against specific strain of bacteria.
Can eggs be eaten while using ciprofloxacin?
As per a study, eggs should be stopped for 15 days after 5 day administration of ciprofloxacin.
In whom should ciprofloxacin not be given?
It should not be given in children younger than 18 years but only if there are no other options which can treat the serious infection. Also it can be taken if children are exposed to anthrax or plague in the air

Precautions
• This capsule can make you sensitive to the sun so limit your time in the sun and use sunscreen, wear protective clothes, and follow all other measures outdoor • Do not have antacids, supplements with calcium, magnesium, aluminum, iron, or multivitamins for 6 hours before & 2 hours after administering ciprofloxacin. • Do not use ciproxin while using a medicine called tizanidine (muscle relaxant) or blood thinners (warfarin etc) as it can lead to unwanted side effects • Not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age (except in inhalational anthrax). • Do not use in Viral Infections
