This medication is used for treating allergic reactions such as hay fever, runny nose, pruritus (severely itchy patches), urticaria (round, itch welts), itching dermatoses (itchy patches), common cold, etc. It is also used as adjuvant in the treatment of eczema (a condition causing itchy and red skin), dermatitis (skin irritation), and drug eruptions.
The patients administered with this medicine may experience drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, dry mouth, attention disturbances, fatigue, and blurred vision.
The patients with allergy to any of the contents chlorpheniramine should avoid use of this medicine.
This medicine works by decreasing histamine levels, a substance that cause allergic symptoms in your body such as redness, itching, sneezing, etc.
Chlorpheniramine mostly does not cause drowsiness. Therefore, it can be used during the daytime as well as nighttime.
If you overdose on chlorpheniramine, symptoms such as sleepiness, confusion, headache, dilated pupils, fever, etc., may occur. In case of over-dosage, please immediately consult your doctor.
