This medicine is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune condition with joint inflammation), osteoarthritis (inflammation in the bones), ankylosing spondylosis (an inflammatory condition that results in the fusion of bones in your spine), musculoskeletal disorders, acute gout (a complex form of arthritis), dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps), migraine and post-operative pain.
Side effects include GI upset, bleeding and ulceration, abdominal pain, skin and hypersensitivity reactions, headache, dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), vertigo (head-spinning), blood disorders, altered LFTs (inadequate liver profile), edema (swelling), hypertension (increased blood pressure), cardiac failure, CNS disturbance (decreased nervous system response), headache, fatigue, dyspnea (shortness of breath), impaired hearing, visual disturbances, and thirst.
Pregnancy
Its use is contraindicated in pregnant females.
Lactation
Its use is prohibited in nursing females.
Precautions
Kidney and liver impairment, Asthma, allergy, cardiovascular risk factors, increased blood pressure, congestive heart failure, hypovolemia (low extracellular fluid in the body), ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease), visual disturbances, Crohn’s disease (Inflammatory bowel disease), SLE (autoimmune disease). Check with your doctor for further assistance.
This medicine is contraindicated in the case of aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy, stomach and intestinal ulcers, severe heart failure history, hemorrhage (blood leakage), bleeding diathesis (unusual susceptibility to bleed), liver and kidney disorders, and in people with creatinine clearance (creatinine removal from the body through kidneys) 20mL/min.
