Primary Uses
Indications
This medicine is used in disease-related splenomegaly (spleen enlarged abnormally) or symptoms in primary myelofibrosis (bone marrow disorder) or in myelofibrosis due to polycythemia vera (a type of blood cancer) or essential thrombocythemia (increased platelets due to blood disorder).
Side Effects
Patients taking this medicine may experience, urinary tract infection, herpes zoster, anemia, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), neutropenia (low white blood cells), bleeding, weight gain, hypercholesterolaemia (elevated cholesterol), dizziness, headache, or flatulence(gas in the stomach). If you experience any of these symptoms please consult your doctor.
Warnings
This medicine should not be used by pregnant women.
This medicine should not be used by women who are breastfeeding.
Make sure the medicine is not stopped abruptly. Patients with kidney or liver disorder please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Contraindications
It is important to ensure contraception for women of childbearing age. Patients who have serious infections should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
