This medicine is used to treat migraine with or without aura (sensory disturbances).

The patients administered with this medicine may experience nausea, dizziness, asthenia, dry mouth, heaviness in the throat, neck, limbs and chest, muscular weakness, headache, rise in blood pressure (temporary), heart function abnormalities, and allergic reactions.

The patients with uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure), ischemic heart disease and other heart-related conditions such as Prinzmetal’s angina and Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment, history of stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack, and certain types of migraines should avoid use of this medicine.


  1. How does Zolmitriptan work?

Zolmitriptan narrows the blood vessels supplying your brain. It also reduces formation of the substances associated with headache, nausea, light and sound sensitivity, and other migraine symptoms.


  1. How does zolmitriptan make you feel?

You may feel drowsy or dizzy during or after a migraine. However, the same feeling may persist after taking Zolmitriptan. If you feel drowsy or dizzy, please do not perform any tasks requiring alertness, such as driving.  


  1. Can you take Zolmitriptan every day?

Please take this medicine as directed by your doctor. Please do not take more or less of it, as it may have adverse effects.


  1. Do Migraines show up on an Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)?

An MRI cannot show/represent migraines, cluster, or tension headaches. However, it can help doctors rule out other medical conditions such as a brain tumor.


  1. Can I take zolmitriptan and ibuprofen together?

No interaction between zolmitriptan and Ibuprofen has been found. However, it is best to consult your doctor before using the two together.

  • Please do not crush, break, or chew the tablet form of this medicine. Swallow whole completely.
  • Do not remove the cap of the nasal spray until you are ready to use it.
  • Please do not take this medicine within 24 hours of taking another migraine medication.
  • Please do not take more than 10 milligrams of this medicine per day.
  • Please immediately contact your doctor in case of any serious adverse effects.
The effects of this medicine are undetermined in pregnant females. Please consult your doctor before use.

The patients with risk factors for ischemic heart disease, hepatic (liver) impairment, and elderly should use this medicine cautiously.
