This medication is safe for nursing females as it has no known risk.


The patients taking this medication must be cautious in cases of phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition that requires you to restrict your intake of aspartame (or phenylalanine), diabetes, liver problems or vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anemia)


This medication is contraindicated in patients with low amount of potassium in the blood, Leber's hereditary optic atrophy (an inherited form of vision loss), atrophic gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) and past history of complete removal of stomach
