Precautions

• Patients with a history of using tranquilizers (anti-anxiety medicine) are advised to withdraw the use of this medicine gradually

• Glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
• Thyroid disorders
• Prostatic hypertrophy
• Myasthenia gravis (muscular disorder)

• Patients with risk of Neuroleptic malignant syndrome
• Risk of blood dyscrasias (disorder of the blood)
• Monitor for suicidal thoughts/attempts

When not to use

Use of this medicine is prohibited in people with the following:

• untreated narrow-angle glaucoma (build-up of pressure in the eye)
• improper heart rate
• intoxication of alcohol
• barbiturate (anticonvulsant)
• opiate (painkiller)
• anxiety disorders
• history of using MAO-inhibitor (antidepressants) in past two weeks
• patients recovering from myocardial infarction (heart attack)

Side effects

Its side effects are transient (gradual) restlessness and insomnia (inability to sleep).

Pregnancy

It is not recommended to use during pregnancy.

Lactation

It is not recommended to use in lactating females.
