Esomeprazole is used in the management of erosive reflux oesophagitis (Injectionectionlammation due to the reflux of stomach contents back into the esophagus), prevention relapse of oesophagitis, and symptomatic treatment of GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease).
Patients using esomeprazole may at times experience headaches, skin reactions, dry mouth, and GI (gastro-intestinal) upset. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
Esomeprazole can be used in pregnancy.
Esomeprazole should not be used by breastfeeding mothers.
Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.
Make sure to exclude any malignancy prior to starting the treatment and this medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with severely impaired hepatic (liver) or renal (kidney) functions.
