It is an anti-viral medicine, prescribed for the treatment of chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
For the treatment of what other viruses can it be used?
In combination with other medicines, it is used for the treatment of HIV infection as well.
How should it be taken?
Take it with food, as this increases the absorption of the medicine into the body.
Is it a solution for all kinds of viral infections?
No, it is not. You may still develop infections or other illnesses associated with a viral infection while taking this medication.
Can I carry out all my daily activities while using this medicine?
This medicine may cause dizziness or sleepiness, hence do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
