This medicine is used in lung infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, soft tissue infections, gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), septicaemia (blood poisoning caused by bacteria), meningitis (Inflammation of the brain), surgical procedures and in the treatment of infected burns and wounds.
This medicine may cause vomiting, allergy, headache, fever, injection pain, candidiasis (oral or vaginal infection), increased liver enzymes, anaemia (decrease red blood cells), colitis (inflammation of colon), encephalopathy (brain disease), disorders which decrease white blood cell types (neutropenia, leucopenia, granulocytopenia) or kidney problems.
