Uses of Lipiget
This medicine is used in hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol in blood), and hyperlipidaemia (high levels of fat in blood).
Side effects of Lipiget
Some patients might experince upset stomach, headache, myalgia (muscle pain), asthenia (physical weakness), or insomnia. If you experience any of these symptoms please consult your doctor.
When not to use Lipiget
Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have liver disease.
How Lipiget works
Lipiget (Atorvastatin) is a selective, competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate limiting enzyme responsible for the conversion of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor of sterols including cholesterol.
Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.
Research suggests that this medicine should not be taken by pregnant women.
Research suggests that this medcine should not be taken by women who are breastfeeding
