This medicine is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, myocardial infarction (Heart attack) with left ventricular failure or left ventricular diastolic failure.
Patients using this medicine may rarely experience syncope (fainting), thrombocytopenia (low levels of platelets), renal (kidney) dysfunction, angioedema (swelling under skin or mucous membrane), dizziness (lightheadedness), and hypotension.
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic (liver) impairment, cirrhosis (irreversible scarring of liver), biliary (bile duct) obstruction, cholestasis (decrease in bile flow), and primary hyperaldosteronism (excessive aldosterone production).
This medicine is used to treat hypertension (high Blood pressure), myocardial ischemia (decreased blood supply to heart muscle) associated with stable (chest pain triggered by activity), or vasospastic angina (chest pain triggered with vasospasm of coronary artery).
Patients using this medicine may commonly experience headache, edema, fatigue, nausea, dizziness (lightheadedness), flushing (reddening of the skin), rashes, and gingival hyperplasia (overgrowth of gum). Patients may rarely experience alopecia (spot baldness), pruritus (itching), abdominal and back pain, hyperglycemia, increased urination, palpitations, and GI (stomach) upset.
This medicine is contraindicated in patients having history of cardiogenic shock (inability of heart to pump enough blood), aortic stenosis (narrowing of aortic valve opening), unstable angina (chest pain triggered by minimum or no activity), severe hypotension, unstable heart failure following MI, and hypersensitivity to dihydropyridines.
It does not matter what time of day you take this medicine (morning or evening) but it is best to take it at the same time every day when you are most likely to remember, for more even blood levels and therefore effectiveness.
Do not eat or drink lots of grapefruit or grapefruit juice. This is because grapefruit can increase the concentration of drug in your body and worsen side effects.
This medicine should not cause kidney damage and is used to treat high blood pressure and slow the progression of chronic kidney disease.
It is generally a safe and effective drug, but it may cause side effects in some people.
Swallow the tablet with a drink of water. You can take this medicine before or after meals.
This medication is used for lowering blood pressure in hypertensive (increased blood pressure) patients and for treating edema (excess fluid in the body) associated with heart disease. It can also be used to treat Nephrotic Syndrome.
Patients administered with this medicine may experience anorexia (eating disorder characterized by abnormally low body weight) and epigastric distress (pain right below ribs, in the upper abdomen (stomach area).
This medicine is contraindicated in patients suffering from renal (kidney) decompensation and anuria (non-passage of urine).
