Clotrimazole is used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and other fungal skin infections (candidiasis). Clotrimazole is also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis (tinea versicolor), a fungal infection that causes a lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. Clotrimazole is an azole antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus.
Apply clotrimazole to the affected skin, usually twice a day or as directed by your doctor.
Dosage and length of treatment depend on the type of infection being treated.
Do not apply this more often than prescribed.
Apply enough clotrimazole to cover the affected area and some of the surrounding skin.
After applying clotrimazole, wash your hands.
Do not wrap, cover or bandage the area unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Insert full applicator gently into vagina at bedtime and eject cream into vagina.
Contact prescriber if there is vulvar itching, fever, foul-smelling discharge, and if the condition worsens.
Continue lying down for 30 minutes after administration.
Do not have intercourse during therapy.
This medicine is indicated for fungal and gram positive bacterial infections of the skin and nails. It is also used for fungal otitis externa (inflammation of external ear). Clotrimazole topical is also indicated for vulvitis (inflammation of vulva, area outside the vagina), balanitis (inflammation of head of penis); treatment of partner to prevent re-infection.
The side effects of this medication include Local mild burning, irritation, hypersensitivity reaction (allergic reaction), or erythema (redness of the skin).

This medicine is contraindicated in patients using barrier contraceptives (condoms, spermicides, cervical caps).
Can I stop using this medcine if I feel better?
The medicine should be applied ‘till the prescribed time. Stopping earlier might cause the infection to recur.
Can I use this medicine when I am on my menstrual cycle?
This medicine should be avoided when you are menstruating (on your period). Kindly consult your doctor for more information.
What kind of clothes should I wear when I have applied this medicine?
Try to wear loose cotton fabric to avoid irritating the area further.
Will this medicine interfere with the use of condoms?
Using this medicine might make the condom less effective. Kindly discuss other forms of contraceptives with your doctor when you are using this medicine.
Will it burn when I apply the medicine?
This medicine might irritate, sting or burn where applied. If this happens please contact your prescriber immediately.
