This medicine is used in the management of allergies.
Patients administered with this medication may commonly experience drowsiness (Abnormally sleepy), dizziness (lightheadedness), headache, fatigue, anticholinergic effects (constipation, dry mouth, and blurred vision), hyperexcitability in children, and photosensitivity. Other serious side effects include convulsions (Involuntary fast, jerky movements with loss of consciousness) and extrapyramidal reactions.
No definite data regarding pregnancy is available, therefore; be cautious. Consult your doctor for further advice.
It is contraindicated in nursing females as it may have undesirable effects on the nursing infant.
Please avoid driving when taking this medicine as it may affect your ability to drive.

Patients with history of asthma (breathing problem), bronchitis (inflammation of bronchi), bronchiectasis (abnormal widening of bronchi), coronary artery disease (plaque buildup in the artery that supply blood to the heart), Glaucoma (high pressure in eye), brain disorders (Reye’s syndrome, epilepsy), difficulty urinating should consult their doctor before taking this medication.
This medication is not to be used in comatose patients and patients with CNS depression (suppressed brain activity)
What is this medicine?
Promethazine is used as a histamine-receptor blocker. Histamine receptors are proteins that bind with histamine to produce allergic reactions.

This medication is contraindicated for children under 2 years of age.
What If I Miss A Dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Yes, signs and symptoms of over dosage with this medication range from mild depression of the central nervous system and cardiovascular system to profound hypotension (low blood pressure), respiratory depression, unconsciousness, and sudden death
Can I drive after taking this medication?
You may feel drowsy or sleepy while taking this medicine or in the morning after taking this medicine. If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines.
