Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold. These symptoms include rash, watery eyes, itchy eyes/nose/throat/skin, cough, runny nose, and sneezing. This medicine works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

How To Use

  • Take chlorpheniramine by mouth with food as directed by the doctor.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water.
  • Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.
  • Take chlorpheniramine regularly to get the most benefit from it.
  • To help remember, take chlorpheniramine at the same time.
  • Quantity is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

This medication is used for treating allergic reactions such as hay fever, runny nose, pruritus (severely itchy patches), urticaria (round, itch welts), itching dermatoses (itchy patches), common cold, etc. It is also used as adjuvant in the treatment of eczema (a condition causing itchy and red skin), dermatitis (skin irritation), and drug eruptions.

  • Chlorpheniramine is contraindicated for use in patients with chlorpheniramine
  • Chlorpheniramine is contraindicated for use in patients with heart diseases.

This medication is used for treating symptoms of allergic rhinitis, and nasal and sinus congestion. It can also be used to decongest tubes that drain fluid from your ears, called the Eustachian Tubes.

Vision changes, patients using anti-fungal medicines, and patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment.
